Language Mapping: Setup

Language mapping allows you to use one sitefinity domain with multiple languages to route the content to seperate engines.

  1. Ensure HawkSearch multilingual setting is disabled

  2. Enable Language Mapping: Enable the language mapping feature in the HawkSearch settings. This feature allows you to map different languages to specific settings and configurations.

  3. Create Language Mappings: Create multiple language mappings: one for each language. Each language mapping should specify the corresponding configurations and settings for that language.

    • Language: Sitefinity Language Code (EN,ES,FR,etc…)

      • You can also specify language code “global” to have a federated search where all languages will go.

    • API KEY & Client Guid: HawkSearch engine details

Ensure that you correctly assign the respective language mapping to each language code (EN for English, ES for Spanish).

  4. Clear Indexes and Index Mappings: Before utilizing the language mapping feature, clear any existing indexes and index mappings in Sitefinity CMS. This ensures a clean slate for the new configuration.

  5. When creating a Search Index the name of the index should be the language code. Ex: ES, EN, Etc…

  6. Utilize the Feature: With the multilingual setup configured and the language mappings in place, you can start utilizing the feature. Your CMS should now pull the appropriate index based on the language mapping for each language.

By following these steps, you should be able to configure a multilingual setup in Sitefinity CMS with language mappings for English and Spanish.

For the federated search option in language mapping you must specify an index name for the Search Results / Autosuggest widgets
