What fields make good filters? Setting up facets for your users allows them to filter the results to find what they are looking for.

Review Existing Facets

The fields that are already configured as facets can be viewed in the facet section of the Workbench. Consider if these are the filters that should be offered to users, and if there should be more facets.

The facets that are configured can be previewed in the Preview tab of the Workbench.

Fields for Facets

Fields that make the best facets are fields that have widespread coverage for most, or all, records. Some of the most common facets are

  • Category/Department

  • Price

  • Color

  • Rating
