How do Boost and Bury Rules work?

There are two types of configurations:


In other words:

  • Global Boost Rules will push the specified products near the top of results, no matter what is entered in search
  • Global Bury Rules will push the specified products near the bottom of results, no matter what is entered in search
  • Conditional Boost Rules will push the specified products near the top of results, based on specific trigger(s)
  • Conditional Bury Rules will push the specified products near the bottom of results, based on specific trigger(s)

Please note: If a boost value is set up to impact a group of items, it will be taken into consideration when an overall Score of an item is calculated. However, applying a positive or negative boost value to a set of items does not change their overall product Score to that given value. Boost  & Bury rules impact the overall Score and positioning of the item, but applying this type of rules doesn't guarantee that the items you are impacting with these rules will appear at the very top/very bottom of the search results.
