Prerequisites: This feature is enabled on the dashboard for all Hawksearch v4.0 clients who use SIM module. For Hawksearch v4.0L and Hawksearch v3.0 clients customizations are needed to enable this feature. Please contact our Client Success Directors team for more details.

Hawksearch Template Version: Hawksearch v4.0 through dashboard; customizations are needed for all other Hawk versions

The order of operations within Normalizer is honored in the order Operations are listed within Normalizers setup screen.

This functionality allows to

  • handle dashes for fractions

  • for Regular Expressions to be applied to product data that comes from feeds

  • add an implied unit of measure for search purposes (additional dashboard configuration is needed to set up implied UOM)

  • within analyzer (instead of setting up keyword replacements) manipulate the data that user entered before it goes into analyzer to improve relevancy

As Normalizers are assigned to individual fields and applied to search, the dashes are removed (if Regular Expressions is added to the Normalizer) for any searches from both the keyword that user entered and from the field data that is getting queried prior to running it through Units of Measures Operator. This way both values are normalized, and we have an “apples-to-apples” comparison which significantly improves search relevancy.
