Workflow

Workflow is the approval process lifecycle that certain rules go through in order to go live. Users with management permissions have the ability to approve these rules. The sections below describe how to create a rule with or without workflow.

  1. When logging into Hawksearch, some users has limited access to the functionality. For example, when creating a Boost and Bury rule, the only option to save the rule is to "Save As Draft". The rule goes through a life cycle that includes an approval process, which is also called Workflow.

  1. When the rule is saved, you can see from the Global Boost & Bury Rules Administration that the status of this particular rule is "Publish Pending". This means that this rule is waiting for    management approval.

  1. When a user, with management permissions, logs back in to the Workbench, from the Home page, you can Add a New Widget to view all the rules that are waiting to be approved and published. Click on the arrow next to Home and select "Add Widgets".

  1. Click on the "Waiting For Approval List" widget, to add it to the Home page.

  1. Click on "Approve" to Approve the rule and publish it. Once a rule is approved, the rule goes live immediately.
  2. Click on "Review" to open up the rule and review how it is configured.
