Top 250 Keywords by Clicks


Similar to the Top 250 Search Keywords Report,  this report allows you to track the keywords that users searched for most often on the site and then clicked on from the result set.

The main significance of this report is to showcase terms and results that site users are clicking on most often. You can use this report to verify against the top keywords reports to identify if the same keyword searches that are being seen in that report also result in most clicks.

These are your more important terms since not only are these searched for most often but results for this term are also being clicked on more often. This often leads to in higher conversion rates.

Similarly, if you see some keywords in Top 250 Search Keywords report that did not appear on this report it is a good indication that merchandisers and marketers should verify the results for those terms since that might indicate that the result set for that term might not be returning very relevant results.
 


Navigating to the Top 250 Keywords by Click Home Page

  1. After navigating to the reports page,
  2. You can either select " Top 250 Search Keywords" from the left navigation or select it from the Reports Home Page. Either link will take you to the Top 250 Search Keywords Home Page.

Customizing the Top 250 Keywords by Clicks Report


Editing the search parameters, doesn't actually adjust the report data. Rather, it adjusts the scope and display of the report. This page allows Hawksearch users to adjust the report's time range, search for specific keywords, style the output graphs, and export a spreadsheet of particular data.  

  1. Date: select a date range of when to pull the data. There are several popular options included in the drop-down. Additionally, you can select the option for "other" and then specify a customized date campaign. This last option is helpful for creating reports organized around time sensitive campaigns.
  2. Donut Radius: Adjust this to customize the look of any donut chart by adjusting the donut radius. The larger the percentage you choose, the larger the hole will appear on your chart.
  3. Width: Adjusting the width of the report, determines how wide your chart will be when it is rendered on the page.
  4. Chart Type: Specify donut or pie type. They are functionally the same, but the donut chart provides a different graphical representation by including a hole in the middle.
  5. Color Theme: Style reports with different color schemes, making them more attractive and professional to your liking
  6. Height: Select a chart height from the preset values.
  7. Labels: Use the dropdown menu to display labels inside the chart, outside the chart, or disable labels
  8. Visitor Targets: Use the dropdown menu to select any of your visitor targets to display. This report shows the Top 250 Keywords for the selected visitor target.  
  9. Labels Location and Show Legend:  Select the location of labels (or even disable labels if you prefer a legend) and toggle whether to display the legend.



Additional Options

After you have made your selections to customize your report, you will have these additional options.

  1. Refresh: Clicking the "Refresh" button will cause the display of the reports to change according to your newest specifications. 
  2. Export: To export the report to an excel document, click on the "Export" button.
  3. Clear: The "Clear" button will delete any changes that you have made.
  4. Add to Dashboard: Click this button to add a widget of this report to the Dashboard. You will have the options to add to any tabs that you have created on the Dashboard.


Lastly, control how many Keywords by Clicks are displayed on one page by using the "Page Size" pull down menu.

Understanding Your Results

The summary of the daily report for the date range specified is displayed when you click "Refresh" and compile the report. The chart on the left visually displays the Top 250 Keywords by Click for search results based on user-defined graph settings. 

The table shows the number of times people clicked on each of the top 250 results.
