This powerful report yields data to help identify what terms are being most searched for on your site. This allows you to check for any seasonal, annual, or time-independent trends of customers searching on your site. Analyzing and ensuring that your most frequently searched keywords always return highly tuned and relevant search results allows Hawksearch users to understand what their customers are searching for and what results are served to end users.

Understanding these search results and priming them for your customers allows optimal conversion rates and search results. You can also associate merchandising campaigns to these keywords and showcase other product lines on the site or allow user to look for sales on those product lines.



Navigating to the Top 250 Search Keywords Home Page

  1. After navigating to the reports page,
  2. You can either select " Top 250 Search Keywords" from the left navigation or select it from the Reports Home Page. Either link will take you to the Top 250 Search Keywords Home Page.



Customizing the Top 250 Search Keywords Report

  1. Date: select a date range of when to pull the data. There are several popular options included in the drop-down. Additionally, you can select the option for "other" and then specify a customized date campaign. This last option is helpful for creating reports organized around time sensitive campaigns.
  2. Donut Radius: Adjust this to customize the look of any donut chart by adjusting the donut radius. The larger the percentage you choose, the larger the hole will appear on your chart.
  3. Width: Adjusting the width of the report, determines how wide your chart will be when it is rendered on the page.
  4. Chart Type: Specify donut or pie type. They are functionally the same, but the donut chart provides a different graphical representation by including a hole in the middle.
  5. Color Theme: Style reports with different color schemes, making them more attractive and professional to your liking
  6. Height: Select a chart height from the preset values.
  7. Labels: Use the dropdown menu to display labels inside the chart, outside the chart, or disable labels
  8. Visitor Targets: Use the dropdown menu to select any of your visitor targets to display. This report shows the Top 250 Keywords for the selected visitor target.  
  9. Labels Location and Show Legend:  Select the location of labels (or even disable labels if you prefer a legend) and toggle whether to display the legend.



Additional Options

After you have made your selections to customize your report, you will have these additional options.

  1. Refresh: Clicking the "Refresh" button will cause the display of the reports to change according to your newest specifications. 
  2. Export: To export the report to an excel document, click on the "Export" button.
  3. Clear: The "Clear" button will delete any changes that you have made.
  4. Add to Dashboard: Click this button to add a widget of this report to the Dashboard. You will have the options to add to any tabs that you have created on the Dashboard.


Lastly, control how many Keywords by Clicks are displayed on one page by using the "Page Size" pull down menu.

Understanding Your Results

The summary of the daily report for the date range specified is displayed when you click "Refresh" and compile the report. The chart on the left visually displays the Top 250 Keywords that were inputted into the search box by users and displays them using the defined graph settings. 

The table shows the number of times people searched for each of the top 250 results within the defined date range.
