Searches with Poor Results

This report provides data about the keywords that the user is looking for and not finding results on the site. This is a very important report as it lets you know what related products users expect to see on your site and allows you to then tune your search results to handle scenarios where users are not finding any results.
The "0" results is extremely important to monitor on the report. As an example scenario, let's say you are an E-Commerce store and the only searchable part on the site is product data so you expect to see users on your site searching for product names, skus and brands but on reviewing this report you might end up seeing keywords in this report like below:

  • Shipping Policy
  • Return Policy
  • Order Status
  • Nutrition Information

This lets you know you that users are not only searching in the search keyword box to get to products but they are also looking to get quickly to pages on the site that relate to shopping experience. In this case seeing the "0" results or "No results are found" message might be extremely frustrating to the user and might create a negative impact on their shopping experience. Using this report you can remedy the user experience by setting up redirect rules for those specific keywords allowing them to quickly get to the corresponding pages on the site.
The other scenarios help you in checking for keywords that are returning lesser results on the site. So these are not necessarily "0" result keywords. This will allow you to confirm if the results are accurate for those keywords and you can verify if you can increase the results for those terms by adding synonyms or expand your product line offering to add additional data.
